Ampati, July 4 -- Ten Metric Tonnes (MT) of black pepper grown by farmers in Meghalaya's South West Garo Hills district were sent to Mumbai on June 3 evening, an official said today.

The black pepper was shipped to Sundardas Ratansey Spice Pvt Ltd, Mumbai, from Chapahati Prime Hub by Kerupara and Dingampara Integrated Village Cooperative Societies (IVCS) under Zikzak block.

With the support of M-LAMP, Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBMA), Kerupara IVCS, and Dingampara IVCS, through their dedicated effort, they collected 10 MT of black pepper from their farmers.
