Jakarta, April 4 -- Ten people, occupants of two cars, were killed after landslides hit and buried the vehicles in Indonesia's East Java province, a top rescuer said on Friday.
The incident occurred when the two cars were passing the Pacet-Cangar route in Mojokerto Regency on Thursday, said Nanang Sigit, head of the provincial search and rescue office.
"Suddenly, landslides occurred at a side of the route, hitting the two cars and pushing them into a ravine," he told Xinhua.
"One of the cars was found at a depth of about 75 meters and another at a depth of about 50 meters. Both cars were buried under three meters of soil," Sigit said.
