Jaipur, Dec. 26 -- Around ten people have been detained following a stone-pelting incident in Jaipur's Chomu area on Friday, which erupted over alleged encroachment near the Kalandari Mosque.
The incident occurred when police attempted to remove iron angles erected along the road outside the mosque. According to officials, while the encroachment had earlier been removed voluntarily, some individuals later tried to make the structure permanent by reinstalling iron angles. When police intervened to remove these illegal structures, a mob allegedly pelted stones at the officers.
Four policemen reportedly sustained injuries in the violence. The Police resorted to force to disperse the crowd and detained several individuals for questioning.
