Mumbai, Oct. 1 -- In a landmark decision, the Maharashtra government led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has successfully addressed the long-standing issue of pending compassionate appointments, with 10,309 appointment letters set to be distributed on October 4.
This includes 5,187 letters for compassionate candidates and 5,122 for those selected through the Maharashtra Public Service Commission, marking a historic single-day induction into government service.
Compassionate appointments, which provide jobs to the wives or children of employees who die while in government service, had faced prolonged delays due to technical and administrative reasons.
