Patna, April 1 -- Under the Lohiya swachh Bihar mission, a record number of 1.46 crore toilets were constructed in 10 years in the state.
Official sources said here on Tuesday that the mission being executed by the Rural Works Department brought a major transformation in the state. Under the first phase in between 2014 and 2019, toilets were constructed for 122.15 lakh families, and a provision of Rs 12000 was signalled as promotional fund to each family for using and maintaining it.
Under the mission 9824 community cleanliness centres were also constructed.
The sources said that 24.70 toilets were constructed in the second phase of the mission, commencing from 2021 and concluding in 2025-26
