Beirut, April 14 -- A Lebanese soldier was killed and three others moderately injured on Monday following the explosion of a suspicious object in southern Lebanon, the Lebanese army's Directorate of Guidance said in a statement.
It stated that the explosion occurred "while a specialized army unit was conducting an engineering sweep at a location in the Wadi Al-Aziya area south of Tyre city."
A Lebanese security source told Xinhua that the number of Lebanese army personnel killed since the start of the cross-border conflict between Lebanon and Israel on Oct. 8, 2023, has risen to 46.
