Kangra (Himachal Pradesh), June 13 -- A 60-year-old woman pilgrim was killed and six others, including two children, were injured when a van carrying seven pilgrims belonging to one family from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh rolled down into a 100-foot deep gorge on Kangra-Shimla Highway on the outskirts of Kangra town on Thursday, police said.

Station House Officer Kangra police station Sanjeev Kumar said a group of pilgrims belonging to one family was on its way to Bajjreshwari temple , one of the 52 Shakti Peeths, to pay obeisance there when the van rolled down into the gorge near Kali temple at Kangra-Shimla Highway. He said that the injured were rushed to Tanda medical college where they were under treatment.
