Sydney, Aug. 5 -- A man died and another was hospitalised in a critical condition after a concrete pump fell on them at their workplace in northwest Sydney today, local media said.

Emergency services were called to the incident spot at a construction site in Carlingford, 18 km northwest of central Sydney, around 9 a.m.. They arrived to find two men with critical injuries.

Local media reported that a concrete pump had fallen on the two men.

Ambulance paramedics arrived and treated both men, aged 40 and 30, before transporting them to hospital.
