Los Angeles, July 15 -- The return of the popular animated sit-com series 'South Park' for its 27th season has been cast into a web of uncertainty as behind-the-scenes tensions escalate between series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, Paramount Global, and incoming studio owner Skydance.

The premiere, originally planned for earlier this month, has already been postponed to July 23 - but may face further delays, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

At the heart of the tensions is a newly proposed 10-year, $3 billion agreement for Parker and Stone - more than three times the value of their existing deal, which runs until 2027.
