Chennai, Sept. 30 -- The knives are out. Even as the Commission of Inquiry headed by Justice (Retd.) Aruna Jagadeesan, constituted by the state government, has commenced its investigation, the NDA delegation of MPs, led by Hema Malini and Anurag Thakur, has demanded a fair and impartial probe by a Supreme Court judge into the Karur stampede which claimed 41 lives.
"It seems something is fishy here," a BJP MP told the media after visiting Velusamypuram, the place where the stampede struck, and the Karur Government Medical College Hospital, where more than 50 injured patients are being treated.
