New Delhi, Dec. 11 -- Delhi Police dismantled a syndicate dealing in demonetised Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, recovering scrapped currency worth Rs 3.59 crore, an official said on Wednesday.
According to the police, four men have been arrested, and two vehicles that were allegedly used in the illegal trade have been confiscated, they said.
The arrests were made on Wednesday, after a tip-off alerted the police about suspicious movement near Shalimar Bagh Metro Station Gate No. 4.
"A team moved in and intercepted the suspects. The accused were identified as Harsh (22), Tek Chand Thakur alias Vinod (39), Lakshya (28), and Vipin Kumar (38)," said Bhisham Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West).
