New York, Dec. 22 -- Saturday Night Live paid a quiet yet poignant tribute to former host and film icon Rob Reiner during its Christmas episode, marking the show's first broadcast since his tragic death.

The episode, hosted by Ariana Grande, marked the programme's first broadcast since Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead last Sunday.

Reiner is part of Saturday Night Live history.
