New Delhi, Feb. 3 -- Even as Iran and the United States prepare to hold talks on the nuclear issue to defuse the war rhetoric, a senior official of Iran's Supreme National Defence Council, Ali Shamkhani, said Tehran has no intention of transferring its stockpiles of enriched uranium abroad.
Iran's MEHR News Agency (MNA) quoted Shamkhani as saying ''there is no reason to move the stored material out of Iran." He emphasized that Iran's nuclear programme is "peaceful and within local capabilities," adding that "60 per cent enrichment can be reduced to 20 per cent if they are concerned, but they must offer something in return."He said Iran's enriched uranium at 60 per cent is intended primarily "to counter enemy conspiracies against us first, ...
