Bengaluru, Aug. 10 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today urged the Centre to accord Karnataka the same level of priority as Maharashtra and Gujarat in terms of investment and policy support, while warmly welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bengaluru for the inauguration of major railway projects.

Speaking at the event, Siddaramaiah said, "Just as Maharashtra and Gujarat receive special focus, Karnataka too should be given the same priority." He stressed that greater central assistance is crucial for the state's infrastructure and transport needs, adding that Bengaluru's rapid growth demanded urgent attention from the Union government.
