Kolkata, June 18 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led Central Government today, accusing it of "violating the Constitution daily" while planning to mark June 25 as "Samvidhan Hatya Diwas" (Constitution Assassination Day) to commemorate the anniversary of the Emergency imposed in 1975.
Addressing a press conference here, Banerjee questioned the BJP's credibility in observing such a day, claiming the party has itself become a :persistent violator" of constitutional values and democratic norms.
"Those who break the Constitution every day are now pretending to mourn its death. This is pure hypocrisy," the Trinamool Congress supremo said, lashing out at the Centre's ruling coalition spearhead....
