Washington/ New Delhi, July 8 -- US President Donald Trump today said Washington is inching close to making a trade deal with India even as he imposed tariffs on 14 nations.

There have been hectic negotiations between the trade officials from Washington and New Delhi to finalise a tariff-reducing deal, but disagreements over dairy and agriculture sectors are delaying the process.

Speaking during a private dinner with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump emphasised the strategic advancements made under his leadership.

"We've made a deal with the United Kingdom, we've made a deal with China, we've made a deal-we're close to making a deal with India...Others we met with, we don't think we're going to be able to make a deal. So ...
