Kochi, Dec. 22 -- Terming the lynching of an interstate migrant worker a "black day for Kerala," the Opposition Leader in State Assembly VD Satheesan on Monday said the state hangs its head in shame over the brutal incident and demanded stern punishment for those responsible, along with adequate compensation for the victim's family.
Talking to newspersons, he said the crime had tarnished Kerala's image, particularly as it was allegedly carried out by locals. He pointed out that the incident occurred close to the area where tribal youth Madhu was lynched earlier, raising serious concerns over the recurrence of mob violence.
