New Delhi, Dec. 31 -- James Cameron's highly anticipated sci-fi adventure 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' was expected to surpass the success of 'Dhurandhar' at the Indian box office, but it fell short of expectations.

The Hollywood epic maintained steady earnings through its first week but saw a significant drop from its second Monday (Day 11) onward.

According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 5.25 crore on Day 12 (second Tuesday) in India, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 148.15 crore. Comparisons with the franchise's previous installments show that the latest film has struggled to draw the same level of audience attention.
