, Dec. 30 -- Shafiqul Islam, one of the July warriors who was shot during the July Uprising, has died after battling complications for nearly one and a half years.

Shafiqul, a resident of Haluaghat upazila in Mymensingh, breathed his last at around 7am on Monday while undergoing treatment at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur.

Physicians of the hospital said he died after suffering from pneumonia.

Shafiqul was the son of Abdus Samad of Dorshapara village under Haluaghat upazila. He had been living with his family in the Tongi East area of Gazipur City Corporation.
