Thakurgaon, July 21 -- A youth has died after falling from a eucalyptus tree in Ranisankail upazila of Thakurgaon.

The deceased was identified as Raju Ahmed, 24,son of Saiful Islam from Bhatpara village in Rator union.

According to his cousin, Raju climbed the tree to straighten a bent branch in their garden on Sunday afternoon.

He fell when the top branch broke and landed on a spade beneath the tree which pierced his abdomen, causing critical injuries.

Locals rushed him to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital where physicians declared him dead.

Officer-in-charge of Ranisankail Police Station Arshadul Haque said that no complaint has been filed yet.
