Mymensingh, Oct. 22 -- A youth has been arrested for sexually assaulting the body of a 20-year-old woman on Wednesday, sparking outrage across the district.

The accused, Abu Sayeed, 19, from Khondokpara village in Haluaghat upazila, worked as a body carrier for Haluaghat Police Station.

The incident took place around 1:30 pm on October 20 inside the hospital morgue.

According to police, the victim had died by suicide a day earlier in Haluaghat's Ghoshber area, and her body was sent for autopsy by Sayeed.

Taking advantage of the absence of the victim's relatives, Sayeed allegedly raped the deceased inside the morgue.

Later, a forensic doctor, Dr. ANM Al Mamun, informed police after finding evidence of fresh semen in the victim's body ...
