Dhaka, June 16 -- year-old housewife was recovered from a rented apartment in the capital's Uttar Badda area late Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Sumi Akter, daughter of Md Hanif Hawlader and Mahinur Begum of Dumki upazila in Patuakhali.

Sub-Inspector Fatema Siddika Soma of Badda Police Station said they recovered the body around 10:45pm from a second-floor flat after being informed by locals.

She had been living in the flat for the last three to four months, she added.

Preliminary investigation suggests that Sumi might have been strangled to death, the officer said.
