, May 7 -- Muridke, a city located near Lahore in Pakistan's Punjab province, was among the sites targeted by India's overnight missile strikes as part of its military operation named Operation Sindoor.

The city is believed to host members of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a militant group advocating for Pakistan's control over the entire Kashmir region. The group has been linked to the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, located in Indian-administered Kashmir.

Designated a terrorist organization by several countries including the United States, Lashkar-e-Taiba was also behind the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
