, Jan. 13 -- A van driver was killed early Monday after being hit by a speeding truck while crossing the road in Balur Maidan area of Jurain under Shyampur Police Station in the capital.

The accident occurred around 3:00am, police said.

The deceased was identified as Md Ibrahim, 40, son of the late Anisul Mia of South Khashirhat village in Tajumuddin upazila of Bhola district. He had been living in Jurain with his family.

Ibrahim's wife, Minara Begum, said her husband worked as a van driver and also did labour work in Nawabpur.
