GENEVA, June 14 -- China has criticized the U.S. "reciprocal tariffs" policy, describing its narrative as "one-sided, misleading," and based on erroneous logic. China urged the United States to adhere to World Trade Organization (WTO) rules and to uphold global trade stability.

During a meeting of the WTO Council for Trade in Services on Friday at WTO headquarters in Geneva, the Chinese delegation pointed out that focusing only on goods trade while overlooking services trade, the U.S. narrative on "reciprocal tariffs" is one-sided and misleading.

The delegation said the United States has sustained long-term services trade surpluses with its major trading partners, which approached 300 billion U.S. dollars in 2024 alone.
