Mymensingh, March 16 -- Two siblings have died after drowning in a pond in Mymensingh's Dhobaura.

The incident occurred on Sunday (March 16) at around 3 pm in the Ranigaon village of the upazila's Sadar Union.

The deceased children are Shimu Akter (9) and Nijum (3), the daughter and son respectively of Emdadul Haque of Ranigaon village.

Two Friends drown in Shitalakkhya River

Al Mamun Khan, Officer-in-Charge of Dhobaura Police Station, said, "On Sunday afternoon, Shimu Akter went to the pond with her younger brother for bathing. They both fell into the water and died on the spot. Later, their relatives recovered the bodies."
