Dhaka, Feb. 20 -- Two people were killed in a gunfight with the joint forces during an anti-crime drive at Chand Udyan of Dhaka's Mohammadpur area early Thursday.

Additionally, five people were detained with a foreign pistol, several rounds of bullets and a machete during the operation.

The identities of the deceased couldn't be known immediately.

Police said the joint forces conducted a drive on the road No-5 at the Chand Udyan after being tipped-off that criminals were hiding there.
