, Nov. 19 -- Mobile phone traders have announced that all mobile phone sales outlets across the country will remain closed from today (Wednesday) in protest against the detention of Sumash Tech CEO Abu Sayeed Piyas allegedly by the Detective Branch (DB) of police.

Mobile Business Community Bangladesh (MBCB) leaders made the announcement at a press conference held at the Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) in the afternoon.

Speakers at the press briefing said the association's secretary Piyas must be released by Wednesday, otherwise they will launch a 'strict countrywide movement.'

Quoting family members they alleged that DB personnel picked up Piyas, a smartphone and gadget trader, from his Mirpur-1 residence late Tuesday night.
