Gazipur, May 5 -- Leaders and activists of National Citizens' Party (NCP) held a torchlight procession in Gazipur to protest the attack on the party's Chief Coordinator (South) Hasnat Abdullah.

The agitating leaders and activists started a torchlight procession around 10pm at Chandana intersection and circled various roads of the area.

During the procession, they chanted various slogans against the Awami League.

Earlier, Hasnat Abdullah came under attack in the Chandana area of Gazipur on Sunday evening.

In a Facebook post by Sarjis Alam, the NCP's Chief Coordinator (North), it was claimed that 10-12 assailants launched the attack.
