Chapainawabganj, Sept. 2 -- Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members seized contraband Indian drugs worth Tk 12 crore and 18 firearms during regular drives along the border during the last eight months.

During the drives from January to August, BGB men recovered 14,195 bottles of phensidyl, 7.425 kg heroin, 547 bottles of foreign liquor, 38.400 kg hemp and 2.10 lakh Yaba tablets, said Commanding Officer of 53 battalion of BGB Lt Col Md Mahbubur Rahman Khan.

BGB members also seized 11 foreign pistols, seven shutter guns, 60 rounds of bullet, 59 cocktails and 1.75 kg gunpowder.
