, Nov. 24 -- The Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase on Monday approved a major proposal involving Tk 10,979 crore for the import of refined fuel oil for January-June, 2026 period.
The approval came from a meeting of Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase at the Cabinet Division Conference Room at the Secretariat with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair.
Placed by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, the proposal seeks to import fuel oil through international tendering (quotation) to ensure uninterrupted energy supply during the first half of 2026.
Officials said the planned import will help maintain stable fuel availability for power generation, transport and industrial operations.
