Bangladesh, June 29 -- Bangladeshi company Texas Clothing is going to set up an apparel factory in Uttara Export Processing Zone (UEPZ) with $8.5 million.

The Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Texas Clothing signed an agreement in Dhaka Wednesday.

BEPZA Member (Investment Promotion) Ali Reza Mazid and Texas Clothing Managing Director Md Forhad Hossain inked the deal.

Texas Clothing will annually produce seven million pieces of different garment items like woven shirts, denim pants, twill pants, and jackets.

The company hopes to create employment opportunities for 1,450 Bangladesh nationals.
