Dhaka, Nov. 9 -- Aam Janatar Dal member secretary Tarek Rahman ended his hunger strike on Sunday evening following a request from BNP standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed.

Later, Tarek was taken to Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital by an ambulance for medical care.

Earlier, Salahuddin visited Tarek in front of the Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon and spoke to him personally.

Talking to reporters, Salahuddin said he came here because Tarek's health had become vulnerable due to the prolonged strike.

He advised Tarek to file an appeal with the Election Commission and also urged the commission to show special attention in reviewing the next appeal.
