Dhaka, April 12 -- Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal made his first public appearance on Saturday since suffering a heart attack during a domestic match last month.

Tamim was seen at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur to support his team, Mohammedan Sporting Club.

Tamim, who had been out of the public eye since being hospitalised, looked visibly better as he arrived at the stadium in the afternoon.

His return, however, was not to resume play but to watch Mohammedan's high-stakes Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match against arch-rivals Abahani Limited.

Witnesses said Tamim first spent time in the president's box before visiting the Mohammedan dressing room.
