Dhaka, March 24 -- Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal has been hospitalised after suffering a heart attack during a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan(BKSP) grounds in Savar on Monday.

Dr. Debashis Chowdhury, the medical officer of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), said that Tamim suffered a heart attack.

"He is currently at the cardiac care unit of the hospital. His condition is better now," Dr. Debashis said.

Tamim, who was leading Mohammedan Sporting Club, took part in the toss against Shinepukur Cricket Club but later complained of discomfort in his chest.
