Dhaka, Feb. 26 -- Like the previous years, a one-minute symbolic blackout will be observed across the country on March 25, the Genocide Day.

The blackout will take place from 10:30 PM to 10:31 PM, except for emergency installations, in remembrance of the first hour of the night.

Key performance indicators (KPIs) and emergency establishments will be exempt from this observance.

Last year, the blackout was held from 11:00 PM to 11:01 PM.

This decision was made at an inter-ministerial meeting on the national programme for observing Genocide Day on March 25 and Independence and National Day on March 26.

Liberation War Affairs Adviser Farooq E Azam chaired the meeting, according to the meeting minutes.
