, April 12 -- The Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that the Trump administration must assist in bringing Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to the U.S. after he was wrongly deported to El Salvador. The Court rejected an emergency appeal from the administration. Abrego Garcia, a Maryland resident and Salvadoran national, had a court order protecting him from deportation due to concerns he could be targeted by gangs in his home country.
While the administration alleged that Abrego Garcia was affiliated with the MS-13 gang, his lawyers argued there is no evidence supporting that claim, and he has never been charged or convicted of any crime.
