Dhaka, Sept. 3 -- Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) on Tuesday directed the mobile operators to suspend 3G and 4G services for a certain period every day in Cox's Bazar Rohingya camps.

Between 5pm and 6am, Rohingyas in the camp areas will only be able to make voice calls. People at the camp site will get 3G and 4G services from 6am to 5pm.

BTRC Chairman Jahurul Haque said the order will remain effective until further notice.

Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar on Monday asked BTRC to take immediate steps to stop mobile phone services at Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar.
