, July 28 -- Dhaka and Chattogram bourses witnessed a positive trend in trading on the second working day of the week on Monday, with most company shares gaining in price.
During the first two hours of trading, the benchmark DSEX index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) advanced by 12 points. The Shariah-based DSES index gained 1 point, while the DS30 index, comprising blue-chip stocks, rose by 17 points.
Out of the issues traded at DSE, prices advanced for 174 companies, declined for 155 and remained unchanged for 65.
The total turnover on the DSE stood at Tk 475 crore during the first half of the session.
The uptrend was also seen in the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), where the overall index gained 79 points.
