Dhaka, March 24 -- Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal who suffered a heart attack on Monday morning underwent a successful medical procedure but his condition is still critical, said Dr. Razeeb Hasan, Medical Director of the KPJ Specialised Hospital.

"The stenting was done smoothly and efficiently, and the blockage has been completely cleared. However, he is still under observation, and his condition remains critical. It will take a little more time," he said at a press briefing.

Dr. Razeeb said, "He came to us in a critical condition. We gave all the necessary treatment. By the grace of Allah, his condition is now better. He had a heart attack. To address it, we performed an angiogram, angioplasty, and placed a stent."
