Bangladesh, Sept. 26 -- A Dhaka Court on Saturday placed a man on seven-day remand in a case over knifing a schoolgirl to death in Savar on September 20.

Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Razib Hasan Passed the order after investigation officer of the case Nirmal Chandra Ghosh, also Sub-inspector of Savar Police Station, sought ten-day remand to interrogate the accused.

According to the case statement, the accused Mizanur Rahman used to disturb and pester the victim.

Mizanur hacked the victim 14-year-old Nila Roy in Bank Colony area of Savar on September 20 after she had rejected his advances.

Locals rescued Nila and took her to Enam Medical College Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead, said police.
