Dhaka, July 2 -- South Korea has expressed its interest to invest in power and infrastructure sectors in Bangladesh, said Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi.

The Minister made the remark at a press conference at his office in the city after a meeting with South Korean Ambassador in Dhaka Hu Kang-il on Tuesday, said a PID handout.

He said South Korea want to reduce the trade gap between the two countries. Bangladesh exported 254.84 million US dollars while imported 1240.70 million US dollars in 2017-18 fiscal year.

The Prime Minister of South Korea is scheduled to hold meeting with 100 Bangladeshi businessmen on from 13th to 15th July, the minister added.
