Dhaka, May 20 -- Police have arrested singer Mainul Ahsan Noble in connection with a case filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.

Talibur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of the Media and Public Relations Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said Noble was detained by Demra police in the early hours of Tuesday from the Staff Road area in Demra, based on a tip-off.

Demra Police Station officer-in-charge Mahmudur Rahman told UNB that the case was filed following a complaint by Ishrat Jahan Priya, a third-year student of Eden College.
