Dhaka, Sept. 11 -- On the directive of the shipping adviser, the Ministry of Shipping has formed a three-member committee to investigate allegations of bribery involving officials of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA).

The committee has been tasked with examining video footage allegedly showing bribery in fuel oil contracting under BIWTA's Naval Conservation and Management Department. Within the next seven working days, the committee is tasked to identify those involved in the money transaction and submit a detailed investigation report with specific recommendations, the ministry said in a press release on Thursday.
