Bagerhat, Feb. 7 -- A commercial vessel carrying molasses (chitagur) imported for the first time from Pakistan has arrived at Mongla Port.

The Panama-flagged ship, MT Dolphin-19, docked at Jetty-8 of the port around 2:30 pm on Thursday, said Mongla Port Public Relations Deputy Director M Makruzzaman.

Unloading of the molasses commenced in the afternoon, he added.

"This marks the first time in Mongla Port's history that a commercial ship has arrived with molasses from Pakistan. The port authorities gave the ship a warm welcome upon its arrival at the jetty," said Makruzzaman.
