Dhaka, June 24 -- As the first-ever cricketer in the history, Shakib Al Hasan has completed 1000 runs and 30 wickets in the World Cups. This is now the best-ever all-round performance in the history of World Cups.

It was Sri Lanka's Sanath Jayasuriya who scored 1000-plus runs and took 25-plus wickets in the World Cups as the first cricketer.

In the sixth match of Bangladesh in the World Cup against Afghanistan on Monday, Shakib hit 51 to complete his 1000 World Cup runs. After that, scalping the wicket of Mohammad Nabi, he completed 30 wickets as well. Later, he took one more wicket.
