Bangladesh, Feb. 16 -- The air pollution in capital Dhaka has reached its extreme level, causing various health hazards to the city dwellers.

Dhaka ranked 2nd among cities with worst air quality on Sunday morning as it had an Air Quality Index (AQI) score of 263 at 8:19am. The air was classified as 'very unhealthy'.

Talking to UNB, Environment Minister Md Shahab Uddin has admitted that the air pollution in the capital reached an intolerable level and said the government has taken various measures to check it and protect the environment.
