, Sept. 20 -- The administration imposed Section 144 on Friday in multiple areas of Dighalia, Khulna from 5pm to 10pm to prevent clashes between two rival BNP groups planning events at the same place.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate, Ariful Islam, said that the order was issued to maintain law and order.

He asked both groups not to hold any meetings, rallies or gatherings during this time and to leave the area.

Earlier, Dighalia BNP called a protest rally and meeting at Pather Bazar around 5pm to condemn a recent attack on district BNP member secretary Abu Hossain Babu's house.
