Dhaka, June 13 -- A sweltering heatwave has thrown daily life into disarray in Kurigram, with residents struggling to cope amid soaring temperatures over the past several days.
The oppressive heat has kept most people indoors, as only those with urgent needs or work obligations dare to venture outside. Those who must be out, particularly day labourers, are finding it increasingly difficult to bear the extreme weather.
Hospitals and health centres across the district, including Kurigram Sadar Hospital and various upazila health complexes, have reported a noticeable surge in patients suffering from heat-related illnesses.
