Dhaka, June 24 -- A scintillating Shakib Al Hasan handed Afghanistan their seventh consecutive defeat in the ongoing World Cup as Bangladesh won the match by 62 runs at Southampton on Monday.

The southpaw hit a fifty while batting and then took five wickets for just 29 runs while bowling to register Bangladesh's third win in this World Cup.

With this win, Bangladesh remain in the race for the semifinals of the World Cup with seven points from seven matches.

Along the way, the all-rounder became the only cricketer from Bangladesh to register a five-for in the World Cups and the second cricketer after India's Yuvraj Singh to score a fifty and record a five-for in the same match of the World Cup.
